Hanging a Brigid’s cross from the rafters of one’s house on February 1st was believed to bring the blessing and protection of St Brigid for the remainder of the year\, particularly from fire; a common issue for houses with thatched roofs! \n  \nJoin Willow Wonder\, Beth Murphy\, for traditional St Brigids Cross making\, using Willow and Rushes. This cross appears with a woven diamond in the centre\, with 3 or 4 arms. Hanging a Brigid’s cross from the rafters of one’s house on February 1st was believed to bring the blessing and protection of St Brigid for the remainder of the year\, particularly from fire; a common issue for houses with thatched roofs! \n  \nJoin Willow Wonder\, Beth Murphy\, for traditional St Brigids Cross making\, using Willow and Rushes.
