SUMMARY:Brigid Film Season 2026 - The Voice of Hind Rajab
DESCRIPTION:Date: 24/02/26 \nTime: 8 p.m. \nA powerful docudrama built around the 2024 audio recording of a call between Hind Rajab – a young girl seemingly alone in a damaged car in Gaza after a firefight – and the dispatchers at a Red Crescent emergency response centre. \nUsing the striking formal device of the real-life audio recording paired with actors recreating the events in the call centre\, Kaouther Ben Hania’s film is a devastating account of one of the most heartbreaking stories of the Gaza War. \nHind Rajab’s story is almost too terrible to face\, yet this film demands we bear witness. \nTickets €7 available in Woodbine Books or Eventbrite link on the Kilcullen Bridge Cinema Instagram page (@kilcullenbridgecinema).

SUMMARY:Brigid Film Season 2026 - Souleymane's Story
DESCRIPTION:Date: 17/02/26 \nTime: 8 p.m. \nBoris Lojkine’s portrait of a modern migrant propels us into the precarious world of an otherwise invisible man. Steeped in compassion\, Souleymane’s Story combines the pace of a thriller with the emotional wallop of a social drama. \nAn award-winning French production in which the dynamic storytelling is matched by a star-making performance from charismatic newcomer Abou Sangaré as Souleymane. \nIt is a raw\, compassionate and quietly devastating film about one man forced to live precariously on the fringes of society. \nTickets €7 available in Woodbine Books or Eventbrite link on the Kilcullen Bridge Cinema Instagram page (@kilcullenbridgecinema).

SUMMARY:Brigid Film Season 2026 - Four Mothers

She embodies the festival spirit\, redefining Celtic tradition for a new era. \nBrìghde Chaimbeul (Breech-huh Campbell)  is a leading purveyor of celtic experimentalism  and a master of the Scottish smallpipes; a bellows-blown\, mellower cousin to the famous Highland bagpipes. A native Gaelic speaker\, Brìghde  roots her music in her language and culture. She rose to prominence as a prodigy of traditional music\, but has since begun a journey to take the smallpipes into unchartered territory. She has devised a unique way or arranging for pipe music that emphasises the rich textural drones of the instrument;  the constancy of sound that creates a trance-like atmosphere\, played with enticing virtuosic liquidity. She draws inspiration from the world of interconnected piping traditions\, but her most recent album brings in influence from ambient\, avant garde and electronic music. \nHer mesmerising musicianship has won her many awards and media recognition\, including BBC Young Folk Award\, BBC Horizon Award\, SAY Award nomination and a wide array of collaborators include Caroline Polachek\, Colin Stetson\, Gruff Rhys\, Radie Peat. \nBrìghde’s smallpipes are made by renowned makers Fin Moore and Hamish Moore. \nSee more on her website: https://scanner.topsec.com/?d=1340&r=show&u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.brichaimbeul.com%2F&t=a7de1ad4dc9209c55f72d1f54e8b59c5a8b0fd4c \nAs a modern torchbearer of her namesake’s legacy\, Brìghde perfectly embodies the spirit of the festival by fusing ancient Gaelic roots with a creative fire that redefines Celtic tradition for a new era. \n
